Moments in the Snow by Bridget Wilson

The pale moonlight illuminated the
Blank hills cascading before me.
Washing the world in an icy blue facade
The world seems as though it was
Frozen in time, still and silent

Every step felt like crushed velvet,
The imprints of my boots in the frozen
Create a trail behind me,
soon to be suffocated by new snowfall.

Gusts of wind blow snow from
The evergreen trees,
The snowflakes swirl through the
Frigid air before settling into the white
Landscape

Clouds began to fill the sky,
Dimming the moonlight to
A faint glow.
My time had come to head
On home, to reminisce
About my moments in In the snow
